Podcasting is an increasingly popular way to consume information and entertainment, so it should surprise no one that educators are innovating with both the consumption and creation of learning-based podcasts. In this hands-on interactive lab, Wendy will lead you through the spectrum of podcasting - we'll start out at the easiest, which is finding and curating content for your students to listen to as a supplement to your curriculum. Then, we'll explore what goes into actually having students make their own podcasts - we'll explore a variety of free software for audio capture and mixing, and then spend some time on the actual idea - what format will it be (hosted/interviews/long-form story). Finally, we'll end on folks out there creating high-quality industry podcasts in education, technology and learning. Perhaps you have strong idea for your own podcast as an educator / researcher - we'll show you the steps to take to get people listening to it right away. Door prizes include high-quality microphones to start your own podcasting ASAP!
