About the conference

EDULEARN20 Conference Proceedings contain selected and revised papers from the 12th International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies that was virtually held on 6th - 7th of July 2020.

EDULEARN is an annual international education conference for lecturers, researchers, technologists and professionals from the educational sector. It is a meeting point where experts from all over the world get together to present their projects and share their knowledge on teaching and learning methodologies and educational innovations.

EDUELARN also aims to offer a platform for international strategic networking, where experts present their innovations and projects on education and technology. The main objective of EDULEARN is to promote and disseminate experiences and innovations in Education and Research in all educational areas and disciplines.

EDULEARN20 focussed on education and educational research methodologies and experiences, as well as new learning technologies. The topic areas addressed included COVID19: Distance Learning in Times of Crisis, Experiences in Education, Curriculum Design, Pedagogical Innovations in Education, Career Development and Training, Experiences in Educational Research, Collaboration Projects and Networks, Impact of Education on Development, 21st Century Skills, e-Learning, Computer Supported Collaboration, Emerging Technologies in Education, Educational Software & Serious Games, E-content Management and Development.

Since 2009, EDULEARN conference has been annually held in-person. This EDULEARN20 edition was initially planned to be hosted at the Palma Convention Centre (Spain). However, it was finally held online due to COVID-19 outbreak. Despite its virtual format, the conference counted with the participation of delegates from more than 70 different countries, and all continents were represented.

In addition, invited international experts from across the world delivered different keynote speeches, plenary sessions and workshops: (videos available at IATED Talks)

Eric Mazur. Harvard University. USA
Steve Wheeler - Plymouth Institute of Education (UK)
Monica Arés. Facebook. USA
Bryan Alexander. BAC. USA.
Maria Luisa Spreafico. Politecnico di Torino (ITALY)

EDULEARN20 also provided many different networking activities where participants shared and discussed different education perspectives, including teaching, and learning in COVID-19 times.

The International Program Committee consisted of members coming from many different countries and all continents. We thank the programme committee members who conducted a blind peer review process to guarantee the quality of the presentations and contributions. A meticulous job in selecting papers for publication was conducted and the following points were evaluated: information content, general structure, relevance, originality, relation to the conference topics and disciplines. The language of the publication was exclusively English.

Moreover, IATED aims to publish conference proceedings that contain original research articles of high quality meeting the expected ethical standards. Authors publishing in EDULEARN20 have to sign the IATED copyright transfer form. IATED shall guarantee the high technical and professional quality of the publications and that good practice and ethical standards are maintained. More information about the publication ethics of IATED is available at: https://iated.org/publication_ethics

Finally, we wish to thank all members, participants and delegates who were actively involved in this EDULEARN conference and who supported it to make it possible again, specially, during the difficult COVID times.

From 2010 to 2020, all EDULEARN Proceedings were accepted and indexed in CPCI WoS. Currently, we have 30 volumes of indexed Proceedings in CPCI WoS from all the conferences that were held in person in the last 10 years. EDULEARN20 conference, held on-line due to Covid pandemic, was not selected for coverage at CPCI WoS.
