Although the fear plays an important role in our life from point of view of the survival, it is obvious it is not positive in the learning of any topic, as physics, mathematics or a language.
One of the most important points in the learning of mathematics is to solve problems, and of course we insist on it to our students. However this message seems unsuccessful. We usually think they do not listen to us because they do not have any interest on it or they are not hard-workers; in many cases it may be true, but it is also true that many of them do try to solve them but get discouraged when they do not succeed. In this fact the fear plays a crucial role through negative thoughts which try to avoid damaging our self-esteem.
In this work we suggest to analyze with the students these type of thoughts, so that once they are convinced of their falseness they are able to develop techniques in order not to get paralyzed because of them.
