In this paper we show our ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) experiences in two subjects: Numerical Analysis and Fundamental Programming II. Both of them correspond to the second semester of the first year of Computer Science degree in the ESII (Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Informática) of Albacete in Spain. We have followed Bolonia recommendations and the development of ECTS. The number of students per class is relatively low and this allows a continuous tranking of the learning of each student. We describe the underlying methodology mainly based on integration of classroom and laboratory, cooperative learning, interdisciplinary work, tutoring and coaching (both virtual and face-to-face) with a continuous feedback. We use the moodle platform that allows a good exchange of information: materials, timetable with each task, forum, etc. We also propose a continuous assessment. We show the results during the last three years that in our institution ESII has developed an ECTS pilot plan inside the University of Castilla-La Mancha. We compare these experiences based on an active learning versus the traditional lectures so common in the Spanish University. Finally we do some reflections and new challenges in the future.
