PROTECTION OF SOFT TARGETS IN PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the issue of protecting soft targets within Slovakia, covering the timeline from the earliest attacks to the measures implemented and the development of strategic documents aimed at preventing such undesirable acts. It offers the authors' perspective on this complex yet socially significant challenge, including proposals for new definitions and potential approaches for addressing the issue at the departmental level. Furthermore, the article opens the floor for discussions on prevention and education in safeguarding schools against attacks, emphasizing the critical need for proactive and systemic solutions in this area. The Ministry of the Interior oversees this issue, but its impact extends into other sectors as well. The primary goal at present is to establish a system aimed at enhancing security in schools. The article contains ways to reduce the risk of armed attack through the education of teachers and students in Slovakia. Attacks on students in Slovakia are a new issue and the method of solution and system from surveys focused to the security and safety, through the creation of recommended minimum security standards, to the creation of state soft targets strategies will be gradual.
