STRATEGY AND METHODOLOGY FOR THE PROTECTION OF SOFT TARGETS IN PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The protection of soft targets, including educational institutions, is currently a critical topic in the field of security management. Primary, secondary, and higher education institutions face various security threats, ranging from physical violence to cyberattacks, requiring specific approaches to ensure their effective protection. This contribution aims to present the strategy and methodology developed within the framework of the APVV-23-0437 project, focusing on the protection of soft targets in educational environments.
The paper addresses the identification of the most common threats, the proposal of preventive measures, and the implementation of systems to enhance security. It also considers the legislative framework, the needs of educational institutions, and collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education, police forces, and emergency services. The project results offer tools and recommendations for schools to increase their resilience to risks and strengthen their preparedness for emergency situations.
The presented methodology incorporates modern approaches, including the integration of technologies for risk monitoring and analysis, as well as training for staff and students. The contribution aims to stimulate professional discussion and share best practices at the conference.
