In this talk we will look at the sometimes confusing world of language assessment. We will consider its different forms and what they are designed to assess. We shall also consider the possible profiles of the candidates these exams and tests were designed for. Finally, we shall look at the future of assessment in general and in Spain and Portugal in particular. The talk will be interactive and no prior knowledge of assessment theory is required.
