The aim of this paper is to present the initial research on how to introduce Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) which incorporate natural language technologies in the classroom, in order to facilitate the students’ learning process. We carried out an experiment with a group of students who are studying Computer Engineering at Nebrija University in Madrid. The students were asked to design a conversational agent or chatbot using a cooperative multi-user text editor. Chatbots offer a series of important benefits regarding the learning processes due to their capacity to facilitate collaborative learning, including social negotiation and mediation aspects. The purpose was to explain to the teacher all the concepts they had learned in class in the subject of Fuzzy Logic. Therefore, students are ancouraged to reflect on their own learning process, and to help them internalise new knowledge and develop social skills through practice with the chatbot and other peers.
