THE USE OF E-LEARNING PLATFORMS AS A SUPPORT AND TRAINING ENVIRONMENT FOR THE GROUP-LEARNING-PROCESS. PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES IN THE FIELD OF ON-LINE TRAINING ON COUNSELLING

Since 2005, the Catholic University San Antonio Murcia (Spain) offers an 18 month Master Program on Social Development with a module on counselling to prepare students to establish and develop helpful face-to-face relationships and encounters. The master program, designed as a reduced presence course, offers an E-learning support and training activities. The students are from Spain, Peru and Columbia and generally working in the areas of NGOs, the public administration or companies. The structure of the module on counselling is based on on-line video conferences, a large local training weekend and further online training with individual and group-learning processes in chat rooms and blogs.
The abstract introduces in the questions of training and learning in the field of counselling with its specific conditions as a very sensitive communication field and the new technological communication possibilities. The author offers an analysis of the experiences of the last three years (2005-2008) from the teacher side in the field of the didactic organization and realization of the training, the technological and personal limits and some creative solutions.
The experiences of the students are mentioned too, but on a secondary analysis level.
