The education system of India has witnessed a significant growth since its independence. Many universities have been established with the aim of providing quality education to the population. But the growing population and presence of limited seats in these top institutions has increased the competition manifold. At present the admission of the students into these reputed institutions is considered the mark of intellectual superiority. This outlook of the students towards education is causing them to take the wrong approach to learning. Instead of learning for knowledge they are swoting the concepts just for the sake of clearing the examinations of these reputed institutions. Although information explosion and the advancement in various technologies have changed the traditional methods of dissemination of information, the education structure is still following the conventional lecture system in which the student is playing a passive role. This paper proposes a reform in the current education system such that the students, along with the rigorous preparation to clear entrance examinations, are also given a chance to understand the conceptual details of the subject in an enjoyable manner. In this case, the students tend to develop an interest in their subjects which will enhance their learning. This paper suggests the idea of teaching all the concepts of various subjects using analogies.
