TOWARDS SIGNIFICANT AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING: AN INNOVATIVE PROPOSAL IN SOCIAL EDUCATION DIPLOMA STUDIES
C. Ruiz Román
University of Málaga (SPAIN)
This contribution deals with an innovative educational experience in the Social Education diploma studies at the University of Malaga. The contribution has been created using the data that we have obtained from the instruments used to assess the experience: interviews with students, an assessment questionnaire, field log, follow-up seminars and tutorials, and report assessments.
This innovation was developed in the “Socio-educational intervention with juveniles with problems” module, and was based on the experiences of young people who had spent time in juvenile detention centres, in order to encourage significant learning on the students’ part of certain ideas within the module in question, as well as to bring about a learning process based on the principles of collaboration, autonomy and critical thinking.
