Present study is an attempt to understand the extent to which perceived supportive attitude of teachers about their College Principal towards them can successfully predict their physical, psychological and work stress and work attitude of satisfaction with teaching and commitment to the employing college. Sample consisting of 122 college teachers with a rank of Reader was drawn from eleven Women Colleges of University of Delhi, India. Various tools were used to assess teachers stress and work attitudes. Results revealed that perceived supportive attitude of teachers about their College Principal towards them though was negatively related to the degree of physical, psychological and two components of work stress- emotional exhaustion and cynicism; and positively related to professional efficacy, work attitude of satisfaction with teaching, and commitment to college but it can successfully predict only teachers commitment to the employing college. If Principals’ want their teachers to be involved and committed to the college activities they need to make deliberate attempt and be strategic to develop a college climate which is supportive.
