The demand by the marketplace on updating the way graduates do work has given rise to questions on whether there is any gap between what education programs delivers to the students and what are the expectations from the practitioners in today’s competitive business working environment.

The changing business environment in Malaysia is indeed an influential factor to the profession in ensuring they should now have a higher expectation of the students’ requirements to fulfill the needs of the practice. Many literature reviews claim that the traditional “input” education system can not adequately prepare students for life and work in the twenty first century.

The emergence or shift towards Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is a result of educational institutions worries about current education system. OBE believes that all teaching practices should be based on what we want students to learn and what we want them to be able to do as a result of their education.

Hence, this paper is obviously aimed to identify what instructional strategies as crucial tools to deliver knowledge and develop skills that should be included in the curriculum so that students would be adequately prepared for future roles in the profession especially in OBE era. This conceptual paper will offer a meaningful contribution to the academics in terms of reviewing the curriculum and practitioners in providing the qualified and competent workers.
