In the adaptation process of the Spanish universities to the European Higher Education, (EEHA), the University of Jaen (UJA) started several pilot experiences. The present contribution describes the work carried out in one of them, the one related to the Preservice Teacher Degree.
A methodology adapted to E.C.T.S has been implemented in order to promote a more autonomous, and meaningful learning fitting the current social demands to become a competent professional.
The adaptation process requires a huge effort of retraining and design of new pedagogical methodologies and materials, as well as to establish an assessment system coherent with a more autonomous learning process and the acquisition of general and specific competences.
In order to study if both, teachers and students have well adapted to the ECTS methodology several instruments have been designed.
The obtained results show that teachers have gone through a change of mind and successfully overcome the challenge related to the incorporation of innovative methodologies to the curricular development of their discipline. On the other hand results related to students revealed different attitudes.
