Universitat Pompeu Fabra (SPAIN)
In the trial adaptation of the European Space for Higher Education in the Faculty of Business and Economics of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) we made important changes in the learning methodology. These changes are reflected in the Teaching Plan of each subject adapted to the process.
The Dean of the Faculty established a prize for the best Teaching Plan for a course in the academic year 2007-2008, with the following objectives.
1. To establish the criteria in the assessment of the Teaching Plan which best adapts to the teaching and learning needs in our Studies.
2. To provide incentives and motivate professors who have participated in the trial.
3. To comply with the requests of the academic institution in the Educational Innovation of the UPF.
By establishing this Prize, best practices in the implementation of the Teaching Plan and an improvement process in the teaching methodology that would be reflected in the learning process are promoted.
The criteria for this Prize involved three elements: an evaluation of the present Teaching Plans, and of its principal aspects in particular, a survey of the various models of Teaching Plans (Syllabus) of the best International Universities in our field, as references in the elaboration process of the criteria adopted; and the writing of the basis (proposal requirements) of the prize awarding and the criteria which determines the final resolution delivered by the Jury has been the ending of the process.
