FLAMENCO MUSIC FROM CHILDHOOD TO PRIMARY EDUCATION IN THE CLASSROOMS

Our interest arises before the certainty that Flamenco, as an art, can help in the training of our youngest students. It is flamenco, a way of transmitting our own feelings, in which we maintain many of the traces of our past and our present.

From the viewpoint of Musical education, starting from the belief that Flamenco music can work and interrelate all the blocks content of Musical education. This style of music provides, among others, the development process of identifying the different steps and compasses; comparison and classification of them, study the verses and rhymes of his lyrics, analysis of its various manifestations, and so on, which contribute to enhance students in the cognitive domain. The auditory perception, visual and physical forms of expression that use, (vocal, instrumental and movement), linked to the interpretation of body rhythm, instruments and movement, provide the development in the field of the sensory-motor. Lastly, its conception as a means of expressing feelings, sensations, experiences, ideas enable students in improving the scope of the socio-emotional.

According to the approaches of our investigation we propose the following objectives: qualitative and quantitative analysis of the contents, resources and objectives relating to Flamenco music developed in textbooks of Musical education for Primary education in Andalusia compared to the results about Andalusian culture, and reflection on the action: The working draft of flamenco in Childhood education.

This implementation was followed by a comparative study of the reactions, motivation, involvement and enthusiasm of children and families, what they have learned in each classroom and a data collection and audiovisual material carried out for meetings. At the end, it came to conclusions and a series of suggestions for improvement. Our proposals are related not only to the analysis of a localized context, but also to public understanding of the reality studied, by encouraging contrast, debate and reflection.

In conclusion, the contributions of our investigation become public knowledge and can serve to encourage debate and the creation of research groups that combine the school and university.
