Education in the University is in a crucial point at this moment, because of the Bologna issue. A better planning in learning area is necessary, so that the education is more effective. We need the new range of curricula, courses… etc. which are based on a complete education and training. And this implies the use of the new technologies and the adaptation of the previous systems of teaching to the evolution of means.
We can modify our lessons with the new technologies, or using traditional methods with other approaches. It is as well the moment for the creation of educative Innovation groups. It is for that reason that seemed important to us, to analyse the studies that had been done in this field or which of them are going to be done, to obtain future lines of action to face up the challenge that integration to the European Space of Higher Education and the world-wide Promotion of an European system of Education Superior entails to us.
We are going to study the different educational methodologies in which we are working at the moment and to compile the educational experiences developed in the University School of Technical Architecture of the Polytechnical University of Madrid (UPM), applied to several different Educational Units.
The methodology is transformed by using the e-learning system like work tool professor-student, combined with actual activities and public presentations of the practical works developed by the students using methods based on computer science means. The formative experience based on specific web technology improved the traditional educational methods in both ways, for the teacher and for the pupil. The importance of the preparation of the students in the new technological area is obvious.
The preparation of our students in the technologies of the communication and the information is unquestionable. Not only because they will be targets of their curriculum in their studies. But because they will be a fundamental tool in their professional work, whatever their dedication is. We must introduce our students in subjects like, Computer Science or Virtual Presentations, as well as in the development of collaborative work; it is required to prepare them for the needs that the society demands and for the development of their professional activity.
We come here to advocate that the thematic is important but the educational methodology and the investigation in education must go closely together. The teachers that presents this work has been teaching with new technologies for more than fifteen years.
The educational methods like the e-learning or b-learning lessons as support to teaching, helps us in future professional activities as well as to train our students in plenty of skills.
