The relationship between language, culture and thought has been the topic for many scholarly research, most of them have pointed out the intricate relationship between the thought, language and culture. Culture is defined as ways of people and this is the very ways of people which affects their behaviour, thought and even language.

In this study through the window of cultural differences and pinpointing some of these differences, the concept of proverbs is taken into consideration regarding animal proverbs.

Some proverbial animal in Persian are taken into account and are compared and contrasted with the same animals in English proverbs through componential analysis. The concept is studied to find out weather the quality is absent or present in English and Persian animals used in languages in question.

Having studied and compared the qualities, we find out that the qualities used for an animal in English is at some times different from the attributed qualities to the same animal in Persian and sometimes it is totally different, which is of high importance in using above mentioned proverbs, specially by teachers and students of either languages, because as a teacher or student uses these, he or she may be actually insulting the people of the target language or may be conveying a message which he does not intend to convey.
