The article has been developed within the framework of the National Scientific Program “Development of Scientific Research and Innovations in the System of Bulgarian Preschool and School Education”, Component 3, coordinated by Burgas State University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov.” The main objective is to provide scientific-theoretical and methodological support to educational institutions through in-depth research and the implementation of innovative educational technologies.
The focus is directed towards two key areas. The first encompasses models for personalized learning, career pathways, and their connection to labor market integration, supported by smart technologies. In this regard, emphasis is placed on adaptive digital systems and intelligent tools that meet the individual needs of students and link the educational process to future professional development. The second area relates to the development and implementation of new methodologies within the context of interdisciplinary, competence-oriented learning. Special attention is given to STEM, STEAM, and STREAM models, artificial intelligence, educational robotics, virtual and augmented reality, which transform teaching and learning approaches.
The methodology includes an analysis of scientific publications and best practices from Bulgarian and international schools, the preparation of survey and interview instruments for teachers and school leaders, as well as expert discussions and round tables. The results of the study will contribute to the systematization of good practices, the creation of a database of innovative educational initiatives, and the development of practical guidelines for integrating smart technologies and interdisciplinary approaches into school education.
In conclusion, the article presents a conceptual model for the digital transformation of education that combines personalized learning, career pathways, and competence-oriented education with modern technological solutions, ensuring sustainable and inclusive development.
