The design of digital educational materials is essential for creating learning experiences that go beyond the simple transmission of knowledge. When focused on the creative generation of ideas, these digital resources become powerful tools that empower students, allowing them to construct their own understanding and solve problems in innovative ways. This approach not only enhances the learning process but also cultivates essential skills for the 21st century.
This study is based on the study of the creative process, which demonstrates the essential elements of creativity. It proposes a learning strategy that students can apply to developing creativity through the incorporation of technological tools. The study seeks to analyze which digital educational materials (DEMs) enable the development of creative skills in the teaching of technological learning units at the Center for Scientific and Technological Studies 2 (CECyT 2). These materials have been developed in current learning environments and are related to technology-mediated education by teachers in the classroom. To this end, several digital materials, such as presentations, videos, podcasts, animations, and infographics, were identified, along with their creative uses in teaching as an alternative to stimulate creativity.
The use of DEMs was considered as a teaching experience that fosters the creative generation of ideas in students and demonstrates the proposed learning outcomes. The study used an online survey administered to fifth-semester high school students as an instrument. The aim is to develop creativity exercises using MED to increase students' ability to generate new ideas by interacting with the virtual learning environment, solving academic problems, and making appropriate decisions.
The result was an aesthetically pleasing and functional design. Visually appealing and easy-to-use materials reduce cognitive load, allowing students to focus on the creative task. The inclusion of elements such as narratives, open-ended challenges, and constructive feedback are also crucial to maintaining motivation and encouraging experimentation.
