STRATEGIES TO INNOVATE AND IMPACT ON LEARNING

It is known that PBL promotes autonomous learning, motivation, critical thinking, written expression and oral expression. This methodology is particularly suitable for learning the application of the rules and the importance of legal limits in non-legal degrees. Therefore, it is a learning methodology that allows students without legal training to learn the legal boundaries specific to their professional context. The PBL has allowed me to help journalism, audiovisual communication, and advertising and public relations students understand the importance of rules and their application for 20 years. This paper describes the recent strategies to innovate and its impact on learning. I incorporated improvements into this teaching after the recognition of a Good Practice by ICE-URV.

The strategy used for innovation consisted of recording the students at the beginning and at the end of the course in order to observe their evolution: oral expression, case understanding, use of legal language, relationships among students, role-playing within the group, among other aspects.

During a semester, the students have been recorded and a careful observation of the students and their learning has been carried out. At the same time, the recording has involved a necessary relationship with various people who work at the URV and who have participated in the development of the strategy.

In conclusion, the results show that the recording of the sessions has been a good tool both to verify the evolution of the students throughout the course, and also to discuss image rights, copyright, and data protection. It is a positive measure that can be maintained in subsequent courses. Moreover, the recording is a very suitable tool for this type of studies. It is important to have into account the treatment of personal data and its protection, as well as the transmission of this message to all students. On the other hand, the use of chatgpt has been detected, therefore, in the future it is necessary to insist to the students the difference between research in official sources and research on Google and ChatGPT: honesty and critical spirit must bear on mind. It has also been shown that current cases, recent examples, or situations in our environment are suitable scenarios to grab their attention, awaken their interest, and foster their learning. Finally, the use of Catalan as a vehicle language is seen as an opportunity for the integration of new mobility students.
