PROBLEM-BASED INNOVATIVE LEARNING - CASES ABOUT DIGITAL RETAIL PLATFORMS

Innovative pedagogy is becoming important topics for HEIs and for managers. Various dynamic changes require from students to become more engage in problem based learning through real practical examples. This paper describes problem base learning approach using 3S approach: solving, structuring and selling. The 3S is part of hypothesis-driven methodology, a cognitive activity used in expertise processes to solve problems with limited knowledge and understanding. The problem-solving method is a highly effective teaching strategy that is designed to help students develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. It involves providing students with real-world problems and challenges that require them to apply their knowledge, skills, and creativity to find solutions. Student and team learning outcomes include improving effectiveness, thinking and acting with impact, and leveling up problem-solving skills.

We will explain two different case studies about various digital retail platforms: Lazada from Asia and Amazon from USA markets. The paper will present the challenges that digital platforms have in retail and present the similarities and differences that digital platforms have within their business models, consumers behaviors and digital marketing strategy. We explore effective digital retail marketing strategies that can help retailers establish a strong online presence, attract and engage customers, and drive sales and customer loyalty in the e-commerce arena. We will provide theoretical and practical implications for academia and practice considering digital retail platforms approach. and innovative problem based learning presenting. Recommendations for developing teaching plan and teaching notes about digital retail platforms should help professors work more effectively with students and achieving better learning outcomes.
