This text explores the importance of using digital technologies in the teaching and learning process, highlighting the role of the teacher as a mediator in this process and the need for continuous professional development to promote digital literacy. The teacher's role is to mediate the learning process, and this can be effectively achieved through technology. For this, continuous professional development is essential, allowing teachers to enhance their knowledge and apply technology effectively. Digital literacy is becoming a key competence for the holistic development of students in the 21st century, involving the ability to understand and interact with the technological world in ways that support social life.

As learning mediators, teachers can integrate the content of their subjects with a variety of technologies that promote digital literacy. This literacy is understood as the technological proficiency that underpins social interaction, encompassing a set of knowledge and skills that can be developed in schools and universities, with the teacher acting as an essential mediator. However, for this integration to occur, it is crucial that teachers are digitally literate, which highlights the importance of teacher training focused on using technology as a didactic-pedagogical tool.

The incorporation of digital resources into pedagogical practice, with a focus on digital literacy, is not merely a technical necessity; it represents an educational transformation that seeks to promote more inclusive, dynamic, and socially connected teaching. The methodology of this study consists of a qualitative approach centered on analyzing how digital technologies are integrated into the teaching and learning process, including literature reviews and interviews with teachers from various educational levels, aiming to understand their perceptions of digital literacy and their integration strategies.

The results indicate that the majority of teachers recognize the need to master digital technologies to facilitate learning, reporting that the use of technological tools has increased student engagement and diversified teaching methods. Continuous training is considered essential, with many teachers seeking courses and workshops to update their skills. Furthermore, digital literacy is viewed as a fundamental competence, both for academic development and for preparing students for the job market, with teachers highlighting the importance of institutional support for adopting technologies in the classroom.

The research concludes that the ability to use digital technologies is vital for teachers in the current educational context, enhancing the teacher's role as a mediator of learning and transforming the teaching-learning dynamics. Digital literacy should be seen not only as a technical competence but as an essential skill for the integral formation of students in the 21st century. Therefore, it is crucial that educational institutions promote the continuous professional development of teachers, ensuring that they feel prepared to integrate technologies into their pedagogical practices. The educational transformation brought about by the incorporation of digital resources contributes to a more inclusive, dynamic, and socially connected teaching, preparing students to face the challenges of the future.
