ARE SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS PREPARED TO USE MODERN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES?
V. Stoffová
Trnava University (SLOVAKIA)
In order for modern educational technologies to be used effectively in teaching, certain prerequisites must be met. These are primarily appropriate technical and technological equipment of schools and personnel ensuring their effective use. Appropriate equipment of a school is a question of financial security of the school and appropriate choice of technology and technologies - that is, reasonable and systematic building of infrastructure. Effective use of invested funds is a benefit of the quality of education, which lies in the readiness and professionalism of teachers. "Being prepared" for reasonable and effective use of modern digital educational technologies is a long-term "never-ending" process, and the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies must be built, supplemented, maintained and cultivated in the long term and permanently - it is the lifelong destiny of every school and every teacher. The article presents the results of a nationwide survey on the current state of equipment of schools with modern digital technologies and the readiness of teachers to use them (not only) in Slovakia.
