IMMERSIVE EDUCATION AS AN INTERCULTURAL BRIDGE: AN EXPERIENCE IN THE METAVERSE

Florida Universitària (SPAIN)
The international project, developed by third-year students of the Business Administration and Management degree program at Florida Universitària and Tec de Monterrey, is conceived as a transdisciplinary, immersive, and collaborative learning experience. This initiative is based on the incorporation of active learning methodologies in an international and digital environment, in which students from both institutions worked in mixed teams to solve a real-life business challenge.

The main focus of the project is the development of key competencies in virtual environments: critical thinking, problem-solving skills, intercultural communication, digital literacy, and teamwork.

The project's approach is to replace the physical classroom with an immersive learning environment, using the metaverse as the primary educational platform. This allows students to interact through avatars in simulated virtual spaces such as classrooms, auditoriums, and laboratories. In this way, students, despite being located in different countries, were able to share a workspace with the unique feature of being a virtual space.

This proposal aims to showcase the design of this international educational innovation and evaluate the results obtained.
