Introduction.
Outdoor education is a new teaching method that uses external spaces to support learning outside of the classroom. In today's technological world, contact with nature is important for individuals' well-being, so a lack of such contact can represent a risk to psychological health (Louv, 2005). Consistently, outdoor activities at school have been shown to positively impact children's cognitive, emotional and social development. Therefore, outdoor education can be promoted an efficient method to educate children, as learning and positive emotions can be combined by it. Based on this, the aim of this study is to explore teachers' attitudes towards outdoor education and evaluate its potential implementation.

Method:
A sample of 34 female teachers (Mage = 51.32, SD = 9.48) responded to a questionnaire about children’s well-being. For the purpose of this study, participants specified the types of environment they considered useful for promoting children's well-being. They were then asked if they were familiar with outdoor education, after which they completed the Outdoor Education Inventory Survey (Chase, 1969) to assess their attitudes towards outdoor education (α = .766).

Results:
The results showed that teachers are familiar with outdoor education as an educational method (94.1% answered 'yes' and 5.9% answered 'no'), and they have positive attitudes towards its implementation in schools (M = 3.83, SD = .40). Similarly, when asked about environments that promote children's well-being, six teachers (17.6%) referred exclusively to nature, 18 teachers (52.9%) included external locations, and 10 teachers (29.4%) did not consider nature in their answers.

Discussion:
This study shows that teachers generally have a good understanding of outdoor education and are prepared to adopt this kind of approach. Despite its limitations, this study emphasised the importance of understanding teachers' perspectives on educational methods given the central role they play in schools. Future studies should adopt a systemic approach and consider the role of parents, as well as that of educational institutions, in offering gardens and open spaces for pupils and developing new learning methods that promote psychological well-being at school.
