This article presents the design of AIEDUCA, an innovative center for teacher education aimed at promoting the ethical, critical, and responsible integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) into teaching practices. Structured upon a theoretical-projective approach grounded in Design Science Research (DSR), the study proposes an organizational and pedagogical model founded on seven strategic dimensions: organizational structure, contextual factors, SWOT analysis, leadership model, professional competencies, intervention processes, and quality assurance mechanisms. The research methodology combined an exploratory literature review, analysis of institutional frameworks, and a digital benchmarking study involving over twenty education innovation centers, AI labs, and EdTech startups across Brazil and Europe. Results from this benchmarking revealed a significant lack of integrated initiatives that simultaneously address GAI, ethics, governance, data protection, and continuous teacher professional development. In response to this gap, AIEDUCA offers a systemic, modular, and evidence-informed model that articulates transformational leadership, pedagogical innovation, and ethical governance. The proposal includes comprehensive training processes in GAI, emphasizing algorithmic literacy, personalized learning, critical tool evaluation, and data transparency. In addition, the center incorporates continuous quality monitoring, supported by international frameworks such as the OpenEdu Framework, the Quality Reference Framework for MOOCs, and ISO standards. The model’s originality lies in its capacity to align international guidelines with contextual educational needs, offering a replicable strategy for digital transformation in education. The study concludes that AIEDUCA represents a pioneering contribution to educational policy and teacher training, calling for empirical validation through institutional pilots and effectiveness evaluations. By integrating humanistic values, critical reflection, and data ethics, the model supports the construction of inclusive and future-ready educational ecosystems.
