THE USE OF AI: IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS TO ENHANCE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

In a world where knowledge evolves rapidly, education must adapt and drive innovation to equip individuals with the skills for continuous learning in an ever-changing reality. Far from being a threat, Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents a boundless opportunity to enhance the educational experience, personalize learning, and expand the frontiers of knowledge.

In adult education, coaching training has traditionally required direct interaction between coaches and coachees. However, practicing in real-world settings poses challenges due to participant's lack of experience, the pressure of engaging with a coachee, logistical constraints, and associated costs. In response and alignment with the Life Long Learning (LLL) approach—which emphasizes continuous learning throughout life—an innovative digital learning experience integrating AI into coaching training has been developed for Coaching Certification. This solution enables participants to develop and refine their skills in a controlled and replicable environment, removing time, space, and coachee availability barriers. The design of this digital experience is grounded in techno-pedagogical principles and the experiential learning model, where participants take on the role of coaches, and AI acts as the coachee, fostering flexible, autonomous, and scalable training.

This project explores AI as a digital interaction tool that creates a safe practice space, allowing participants to refine their inquiry techniques without fear of making mistakes. Its primary goal is to assess the impact of this digital learning experience on the participant's training process. The research follows a qualitative approach, utilizing an electronic questionnaire with a Likert scale as the data collection instrument.

The key findings indicate that AI-driven experiences significantly enhance participants sense of security and confidence, providing an immersive environment where they can experiment, make mistakes, and learn without pressure. Additionally, the intentional use of AI enables the complexity of conversations to be dynamically adjusted based on participant's knowledge levels, personalizing their learning experience and optimizing their development.

This digital learning experience represents an advancement in coaching education and a scalable and replicable model for other areas of continuing education. By combining AI with innovative pedagogical methodologies, this initiative transforms lifelong learning from an abstract concept into a tangible and accessible reality.
