THE INFLUENCE OF ONLINE ASSESSMENT GRADEBOOKS ON THE LEARNING STYLE OF STUDENTS IN HIGHER TEXTILE EDUCATION

Online assessment is a digital testing approach that is employed in courses for exams, quizzes, or assessments that involve internet-connected devices via learning management platforms. The measurement takes into account students' knowledge, acquired skills, and level of knowledge in specific subjects. At once, the teacher is able to record the results, analyze them, and offer feedback. Over time, and especially after the pandemic period, online assessment has gained ground and begun to become established, also due to the fact that new generations of students are "addicted" to mobile devices (and not only), but also to the fact that they carry out most of their activities online, on various social networks. The advantages of online assessment (efficiency, provides instant results and feedback, reduces correction time and time allocated to administrative tasks, encourages students to focus on topics that need improvement, etc.) were used to analyze the activity of 2nd year students in a technical discipline. This analysis is based on information collected over a period of 5 years (different generations), and it was followed how the continuous assessment, respectively the grades displayed in the online catalog of the Moodle platform influenced the behavior of the students. Attendance at courses and practical activities with different weights in certain years was also considered in the evaluation and displayed in the catalog. The catalog displayed this new activity, which had a positive impact on class attendance and reduced absenteeism in practical activities (including remedial work). By updating grades quickly in the catalog for different activities, the catalog helped change the students' learning style and encourage them to respond to course activities' demands.
