GAMES FOR INNOVATIVE GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION FOR THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: AN EVALUATION

Games for innovative global citizenship education for the Sustainable Development Goals, or Games for Goals (GFG), is a project financed by Erasmus+ under contract n.º 2022 – 1 - FR01 - KA220 – SCH - 000089401. The project was implemented by a consortium of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) and Higher Education Institutions (HEI) from five European countries, led by a French NGO, Le Partenariat. Its main objective is to develop innovative educational resources on global citizenship & sustainability for primary education. The main outputs from the project are three games and associated teacher’s handbook on sustainable development goals (SDG) and a virtual library of resources available on global citizenship & sustainability for primary education.

The library is to be implemented through research conducted by the participating organizations. It can be found at the project website for consultation (https://gamesforgoals.eu/). The games and teacher’s handbook are available also at the project website. The first game produced is called “Aqua Heroes” and focus on the water cycle promoting the adoption of sustainable practices on water consumption. The second game is called “Planet Vivo” and intends to call attention of children to biodiversity. The third games is called “Ticket to Rights” and aims to highlight children’s rights.

This paper intends to describe the main outputs of the project. Besides a description of each of the outputs, it also aims to present a description of how they were developed. Finally, it will also present a set of additional outputs taken from the project by the participating organizations.
