This study explores the integration of virtual reality in the design of virtual museums/exhibitions to enhance visual arts education, history education, and public accessibility. The study is based on several recently completed projects of virtual museums of art and history that extend their real counterparts, as well as temporary art exhibitions. Previously accessible only to a physical audience, the collections are now being transformed into interactive virtual museums/exhibitions to support artistic education and cultural heritage preservation. Using VR technologies, the projects aim to create an immersive educational experience, allowing users to interact with exhibits through 2D, 3D views, stereoscopic views, directional sound, and interactive pathways. The virtual museums and exhibitions are designed to be accessible on various platforms, from tablets to high-end VR labs, demonstrating new possibilities for exhibition design, artistic education, and cultural engagement.
