Electromobility represents one of the key pillars of the future of sustainable transport, highlighting the growing need to incorporate this field into higher education. In the context of rapid technological advancements and shifts in the labour market, it is crucial for universities to adapt to these trends and prepare graduates for emerging challenges in the production, servicing, and management of electric vehicles. The integration of electromobility education into university study programmes can contribute to a more effective connection between students' theoretical knowledge and practical experience, aligning their skills with the demands of the industry.
This study includes a survey conducted among university students from various academic disciplines to assess their awareness of electromobility, their attitudes towards the topic, and their expectations regarding its inclusion in the curriculum. The collected data indicate that the majority of respondents recognise the importance of electromobility, partly in relation to their future career prospects. However, many students also highlighted a lack of practical teaching methods. They expressed interest in initiatives such as industry collaboration projects, which would enable them to acquire hands-on experience and develop a more flexible approach to learning in this field.
Based on these findings, we propose recommendations for universities to integrate electromobility-related knowledge and content into existing programmes in various formats. We believe that strengthening education in this area will contribute to the effective preparation of future professionals for the evolving labour market.
