Advancements in technology and the interconnectivity set new challenges to educational institutions, both the adaptation of existing teaching strategies and the development of innovative methods, alongside the integration of IT solutions in the learning process. The COVID-19 pandemic gave a significant boost to the digitization of education, forcing many institutions to adopt online teaching models. This paper explores the key challenges and advantages of digital education, with special emphasis on technical, pedagogical, and social factors that influence its success.

The research focuses on the analysis of student satisfaction with pedagogical methods of online teaching in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Special attention is paid to the factors that shape the student experience, including the quality of the teaching material, interactivity, technical support and lecturer motivation. Also, through an empirical analysis of the collected data, it is investigated whether there are significant differences in the perception of online classes among different groups of students, concerning age, gender, academic department/program direction and other relevant variables. In addition, the paper examines the problems of the availability of digital resources and technical equipment, as well as the challenges of adapting teachers to digital work methods. Key shortcomings are identified and strategies to overcome them are proposed, including optimization of teaching platforms, increasing interactivity and empowering teachers through additional education. The research results contribute to a better understanding of the factors that influence the success of online education and provide guidelines for improving digital educational practices.
