My Portfolio (https://mojeportfolio.ibe.edu.pl/) is a free, web-based application developed by the Educational Research Institute – National Research Institute in Poland, designed to support the implementation of the Integrated Qualifications System. This innovative tool facilitates the creation of online portfolios, enabling users to document their various competences along with supporting evidence, following the philosophy of lifelong and lifewide learning. It caters to three primary user groups: learners, guidance counsellors, and employers or recruiters, each with distinct roles in the development and usage of digital portfolios.
For learners, My Portfolio serves as a dynamic platform to collect, organize, and reflect on evidence of their skills and accomplishments—such as documents, images, links, audio recordings, and videos. Learners can begin by identifying their competences and linking them to supporting evidence reflecting their actual skills. The application offers flexibility in how competences are named, allowing users to either create their own labels or select from a predefined list. It supports multiple devices such as laptops, tablets, or smartphones, and it enables file uploads and downloads from cloud storage.
Guidance counselors can apply My Portfolio to assist clients in developing their digital portfolios, providing support in identifying competences and suggesting next steps for skill development. Employers and recruiters can utilize the platform to review the portfolios shared by candidates, making it a useful tool in recruitment processes, while also encouraging them to reflect on their long-term career development. The application also supports teachers in integrating lifelong and lifewide learning into their educational practices by helping students build the habit of continuously collecting evidence of their competences.
A key feature of My Portfolio is its organizational system, which allows users to create thematic folders to store their evidence, which can then be shared with specific individuals, such as guidance counsellors, recruiters, or peers. This sharing feature fosters collaboration, feedback, and ongoing learning, promoting a supportive environment for continuous improvement. Additionally, learners can input their education and work experience details, which can then be used to generate a skill-based CV based on selected templates.
The benefits of using My Portfolio are significant in the context of lifelong learning. By linking competences with tangible evidence, learners gain a deeper self-awareness of their strengths, areas for improvement, and long-term goals. This process helps them autonomously plan their educational and vocational development, either independently or with guidance from a counsellor. The portfolio can also serve as a valuable resource for submitting to awarding bodies within the Integrated Qualifications System for assessment purposes.
My Portfolio is continuously evolving to further support lifelong learning. Plans for future updates include enhanced functionalities as well as providing the English and Ukrainian versions, which will be available soon. These updates reflect the commitment to expanding the tool’s accessibility and functionality to support users in their ongoing personal and professional development throughout their lives.
