The paper presents the experience of the Wayfarer’s experimental work space (Cantiere del Viandante) carried out in Lecco (northern Italy) within the Caritas Ambrosiana summer proposals for young people.

Recent conferences and study days (‘Fragility calls: Lecco responds’ held at the Casa della Carità) have brought to light the presence of old and new fragilities that concern both the area of minors, young people and the disabled as well as the area of the elderly, mental illness and adult marginalisation. The launching of training and experiential paths for young people showed the twofold urgency of: launching and consolidating systemic (rel)actions in the area and enhancing young people's awareness of how charity can become a daily relational style.

This led to the design of the “Cantiere del Viandante”, which, moving among various realities, aims to combine observation of contexts, solidarity practices, experiential re-elaboration and sharing of experiences.

In particular, the paper is organised in three parts.

The first part introduces the educational perspective underlying the design of the experience, starting from the anthropological challenge of promoting a transformative growth of the individual person starting from an enhancement of his or her constituent dimensions and level of awareness.

The second part briefly describes the methodological approach, the structure of the training days, and the objectives of the proposed activities.
Special attention is paid to the holistic view of the person, to grasp a perspective of integral growth, using counselling and coaching approaches contained in the MECIS - PENTAFOLIUM model..

In the third part, he presents the Wayfarer's Kit that is given to participants. The aim is to highlight how the theoretical principles are translated into practical tools to accompany the training course.

The fourth part shows the various moments and activities carried out during the ‘Cantiere del Viandante’ experience.

At the end of the paper, the following are presented: possible developments of the methodological approach and operational tools, the outcome of the participants' satisfaction questionnaires, first considerations by the trainers.

Keywords: Life skills, personal growth, anthropology of awareness, training methodological approaches.
