In the context of training courses and experiences for young people, the connection between what is experienced during the activity and everyday life plays a decisive role. A relevant indicator can be found in the assessment of the coherence of choices and decisions that have a value basis in the training proposals and should then be applied in everyday life.

The paper presents the methodological approach, the operational tools and the first results obtained from the application of the “Self Check Systems” Coaching Methodology (SCS-CM) to some groups of scout leaders with the aim of promoting practices of awareness and responsibility both for the personal growth of the leader and to grasp the repercussions in the educational sphere on the boys entrusted to them.

In particular, the work is organised in five parts.

The first part introduces the basic features of the ‘leader community’ group in order to be able to grasp the training needs and requirements, with particular reference to the associative documents concerning methodological and training aspects (the study concerned the AGESCI scout reality).

The second part, starting from the viewpoint of philosophical anthropology and psychoanalysis, presents “five codes” that represent polarities between which it is possible to grasp the ways in which the individual interacts within the group, also considering the specific structured context of association.

The third part presents the correlation found between the dynamics of mindfulness and emotional leadership in order to grasp the fundamental traits of mindful leadership.

The fourth part presents the ‘Self Check Systems’ Approach both in its objectives and in the tools devised, oriented towards the individual Scoutmaster's practice and sharing within the group.

The fifth part shows the first results obtained in the experimentation of the SCS Approach and oriented towards the activation of conscious choices and decisions of the individual leader.

To conclude the paper, possible developments of the methodological approach and operational tools are presented.
