THE INTERSECTION OF GENERATION Z AND HERITAGE CONSERVATION SUBJECTS: LEVERAGING OF EDUCATIONAL TOOLS

The Z generation is known for its deep connection to technology, social consciousness, and desire for interactive and immersive learning experiences. In this frame the text presents a reflection about educational tools and strategies for teaching heritage conservation to Gen Z, under the umbrella of different subjects linked with Architectural Conservation, taught at Technical School of Architecture of Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.

Incorporating technology, social platforms, and immersive experiences into heritage conservation education can deeply engage Gen Z. By offering them opportunities to interact with history through innovative tools, encouraging them to collaborate, and tapping into their passion for sustainability and social justice, professors can support a new generation of heritage conservationists who will be equipped to safeguard architecture heritage for the future. For this reason, the text would present a general overview about potential tools linked with Gen Z, including big categories of resources such as immersive technologies, online learning platforms, digital resources, social media and collaborative learning and storytelling. The final goal of the text is to establish pros and cons about these methodological facilities applied to heritage conservation subjects, to establish a selection of suitable tools aligned with, after assessing their scope.

Selecting educational tools for heritage conservation requires a thoughtful approach to ensure the tools are effective in promoting knowledge, skills, and best practices among stakeholders involved in (as students as teachers). The text presents a binomial analysis for all these educational tools, checking in parallel possible level of effectiveness or failure considering the profile of the subjects involved. By considering all these factors, the text aims to select and present a ranking of educational tools that will best help convey the knowledge and skills necessary for effective heritage conservation students target group.
