YouTube has become a critical platform for online education, providing accessible and diverse learning opportunities across various disciplines, including STEM fields. This study examines how different audience demographics—age, gender, geographic distribution, and device type—engage with educational content focused on electrical engineering. While prior research has explored the effectiveness of YouTube as an educational tool, there remains a gap in understanding how specific audience segments interact with STEM-related content and whether their consumption behaviors differ based on demographic and technological factors.

Through a review of existing literature, this study contextualizes the role of YouTube in STEM education, particularly in engineering disciplines, and explores the impact of content format and delivery on engagement. Using data from an electrical engineering-focused YouTube channel, we investigate which demographics show the highest engagement, how device preferences influence watch time, and whether audience segments exhibit distinct consumption behaviors.

By analyzing viewership patterns and engagement metrics across different user groups, this study provides insights into how educators and content creators can optimize content strategies to enhance accessibility and learning outcomes in STEM education. The findings reveal key trends in audience segmentation, offering practical recommendations for tailoring content delivery to improve engagement with diverse learners in the electrical engineering domain. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on digital learning behaviors, helping educators and platforms better cater to the needs of evolving online learners.
