Urban mobility faces increasing challenges in cities like Mexico City, where population density and the growing vehicle fleet demand innovative and sustainable solutions. This work focuses on the education of Mobility Engineering students at UPIEM, exploring how the integration of technology can foster good mobility practices to offer innovative solutions to mobility-related problems.

Good practices are strategies or actions that have proven to work or solve problems for results management in different areas, branches, and institutions. Generally, in terms of mobility, good practices originate from European or first-world countries where mobility patterns are different, and measures are adopted to steer mobility towards achieving sustainability.

The objective of this work is to analyze the impact of good practices implemented in other countries and the technology they use, so that they can be studied by urban mobility engineering students.

The methodology used consisted of two phases. The first was a literature review of government programs and publications in reliable databases from Spain and the Netherlands to identify the main elements of success and their characteristics that enable favorable results in good practices applied to mobility. The second consisted of assigning topics for the development and oral presentation of 7th-semester urban mobility engineering students, where the following themes were identified: safe and inclusive mobility, active mobility, the use of public transportation, and sustainable mobility policy.

The results show a high level of student interest and participation in mobility-related activities. An increase in their ability to propose innovative solutions to common mobility problems in Mexico was observed. It was also found that a fundamental part of mobility and its success in other countries lies in public policy related to mobility, along with its implementation through citizen participation and mobility patterns that drive the adoption of different models.
