Geodesy, the study of Earth's geometric shapes, vertical movements, spatial orientation, and other environmental and land measurements, relies heavily on advanced technologies. Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are integral parts of Geodesy and Geoinformatics studies and research, offering accurate data, processing capabilities, and other necessary analytical tools. The purpose of this article is to present the study programs of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, including RS and GIS, conducted at the Department of Geodesy and Cadastre of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH). It reviews subjects closely related to the application of RS and GIS, highlighting their roles in enhancing accuracy and efficiency in geospatial measurements. This paper presents theoretical and practical solutions and software package functionalities designed for various geodesy projects. By comparing VILNIUS TECH's Geodesy and Geoinformatics studies with those in foreign countries, we see that while the basic principles of geodesy remain consistent, the specific RS and GIS skills and research areas can vary greatly. This diversity allows students to choose programs that best match their career goals and interests. To this end, students actively participate in the ERASMUS exchange program and choose subjects from foreign universities.
