In the current context, characterized by the rapid pace of technological changes, constant access to information, and social challenges, time management has become an essential skill for students who face multiple sources of distraction and continuous pressure to perform across various domains. Technology has brought both opportunities and significant challenges in time management.
At the same time, students find themselves in an environment where rapid changes in education require constant adaptation. Social challenges, such as external expectations from families or society and the need to build an active social life, represent additional factors that can influence the balance between academic and personal activities.
Thus, students must develop advanced planning and prioritization skills, learning to manage their time effectively in order to meet both academic demands and external pressures, while also maintaining their mental and physical health. In this context, time management skills are not just useful competencies but a necessary condition for both personal and professional success.
This article aims to collect data through a questionnaire on the factors that influence effective time management among first- and second-year students at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest. We propose a series of suggestions regarding time optimization strategies, including setting clear objectives, using digital or physical planners, applying the Pomodoro technique, and prioritizing tasks. The article emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance between academic and personal activities, as well as the role of extracurricular activities and rest in preventing burnout and improving productivity.
Through concrete strategies and useful resources, the article provides recommendations for students to develop time management skills that support both academic performance and personal well-being.
