Higher education plays a critical role in shaping future professionals capable of addressing contemporary societal challenges. This study explores the implementation of educational research projects in higher education, focusing on their integration into final degree projects in urbanism and well-being. The research highlights the benefits of applying active, research-based learning methodologies that engage students in real-world problem solving while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

Through a case study approach, the study examines how final degree projects in architecture and engineering incorporate sustainability, urban planning, and well-being principles. Students contribute to innovative urban solutions aimed at improving quality of life. The methodology enhances students' technical skills and prepares them to address complex urban challenges through holistic, evidence-based approaches.

Findings indicate that embedding educational research projects in higher education enhances student engagement, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Moreover, these projects serve as a bridge between academia and real-world applications, promoting sustainable and inclusive urban development. The study underscores the value of integrating project-based and research-based learning strategies in higher education curricula, equipping future professionals with the skills necessary to design resilient, people-centered urban environments.
