THE DYNAMICS OF GLOBALIZATION, CULTURAL POLICY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: ORGANIZATION OF CULTURAL MANAGEMENT AND ONLINE HIGHER EDUCATION COURSES
K. Gantzias
The impact of globalization, cultural policy and artificial intelligence (AI) on the management of cultural organizations and online higher education courses is a multifaceted phenomenon. In the third decade of the 21st century, distance learning in cultural policy, management and administration is increasingly regarded as a viable economic investment that promises high returns, emphasizing the role of education in economic development and employability. In this context, it is imperative to consider not only the proliferation of distance learning courses but also the increasing number of courses that integrate traditional in-person meetings with artificial intelligence platforms for online cultural education. The 'Digital Interactive Culture Education' (DICE) model is a methodological approach developed as a distance learning postgraduate course (MSc) in Cultural Organisation Management since 2004. This article examines and analyses how the programme has provided a comprehensive education in cultural policy, management and administration, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills to meet market conditions and employer demand. The article goes on to outline that a significant proportion of the 3,000 postgraduate students have secured employment within cultural organisations in Greece and other countries worldwide. Finally, the article undertakes a thorough analysis of online culture policy education and puts forward a proposal for the development of online courses utilising Gen AI platforms that combine traditional in-person meetings and online education platforms by employing the DICE model as a human-centric approach to online cultural education in the era of the Human-Robotic Revolution (H2R).
