This paper outlines the didactic proposal for integrating art and literature, as implemented within the framework of the three-year Erasmus plus KA229 strategic school partnership (2020-2023) coordinated by Gymnasium Mygdonias in the Municipality of Oraiokastro, Greece. The project was entitled: "Art and Literature in Education's Nature! Is it an A.Li.E.N.?". It brought together five schools from across Europe to explore the transformative potential of integrating art and literature into education: Gymnasio Mygdonias (Greece), Istituto di Istruzione Superiore don Lorenzo Milani (Italy), Vilniaus Gabijos gimnazija (Lithuania), Atasehir Bil College (Türkiye) and Osnovna skola Podmurvice (Croatia). Through a variety of innovative and inclusive activities, the project aimed to strengthen social and emotional skills, develop critical thinking and language skills, and foster intercultural understanding.

Three eTwinning projects, different in their composition of activities but thematically aligned with the main axes of the partnership, implemented the dual goal of the partnership and aimed to highlight the need to strengthen social and emotional skills through the targeted integration of art and literature into school practice (Wu, 2023). Starting with the idea that reading a literary text is an encounter with otherness and that the artistic experience is the starting point for understanding ourselves and others, a variety of thematic activities with characteristics of social-emotional learning and interculturalism were organized.

Emphasis was placed on strengthening collective memory and developing language skills, critical thinking, and visual literacy, while the involvement of the "weakest link" student was a constant and persistent goal of the project (Hashimoto, 2008).

In parallel with reading activities, collaborative and playful, which provided the incentive for personal expression and synthetic creation, the visual activities that were implemented were mainly inclusive and innovative in nature and led to the creation of school galleries in the partner schools.

Considering the sustainability of Erasmus and eTwinning projects of essential importance, efforts were made through systematic dissemination mechanisms to leave the A.Li.E.N.? its creative imprint, both intangible and tangible, on the lives of the schools that implemented it.
