Utilizing conventional teaching methods makes the learning process monotonous. Consequently, educators are actively endeavoring to apply the engaging approaches in class. The flipped classroom teaching model has appeared to be one of the ways of enhancing student academic performance reshaping traditional instructional paradigms. The paper reveals the influence of flipped teaching on student learning outcomes. In the contemporary world, the focus is shifted from teacher-centered to student-centered learning, and flipped classroom contributes a lot to this, making students active participants of the learning process rather than passive recipients, where they are busy with instructional materials outside the classroom and educators are given an opportunity to prioritize active learning during class time.

The work explores the potential benefits of flipped classroom implementation, such as encouraging student autonomy, developing critical thinking or improving other significant skills for the 21st century. Nevertheless, the paper underlines the possible complications of flipped teaching as well. The effect of the flipped classroom teaching model on academic performance was investigated among Batumi State Maritime Academy and BAU International University students. An experimental group of 80 students was divided into flipped classroom and traditional groups. By comparing their GPA of two terms before and after implementing the approach, the conclusions were drawn. Pre-test and post-test results also disclosed the essential difference in their academic performance. The study highlights the significance of the flipped classroom teaching model inclusion in the curriculum based on the conclusions made after identifying the impact of it on the student outcomes.
