R. Peral Orts, C. Mora-Rodriguez
Spanish Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the procedure for ensuring its quality, establishes in article 4 that the study plans of the University degrees must have the Sustainable Development Goals as a reference and mainly the principles related to equality, freedom, accessibility or environmental sustainability. The restructuring of the study plans and the inclusion of these principles in a clear and evident manner have resulted in a handicap for university professors who, on some occasions, do not find the appropriate way to adapt their contents according to this new approach. In the same way, students do not always understand the importance of this issue and needs to participate in the process to understand its purpose. This article presents some successful actions implemented in the Business and Mechanical Engineering degrees at Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Spain, as well as some recommendations to facilitate the process of curricular sustainability in university degrees.
