Introduction:
The increase in the prevalence of overweight and obesity, as well as related diseases in childhood and adolescence are related to sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical activity and poor nutritional habits. Teachers, as health agents and role models for students, lack specific training on this issue. This is an increasingly important challenge in the educational context.

Objectives:
This work aims to study the knowledge and nutritional habits and physical activity of teachers of the stages of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria as promoters of healthy habits and as an example for their students (learning by modeling).

Methodology:
A cross-sectional observational descriptive study will be carried out in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, Spain. The study population will be the teachers of the stages of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education of the community. Recruitment will be carried out through messages on social networks and the sample size will be reached using the snowball technique. For data collection, an ad hoc questionnaire will be designed in a digital platform for online distribution and response. A univariate descriptive analysis of each variable and a bivariate analysis will be carried out using the statistical software IBM SPSS Statistics version 25.

Limitations and strengths:
That the data are based on participants' self-reported responses to cause recall and social desirability biases. However, the study also calculates Body Mass Index (BMI) from objective measures of weight and height. This allows comparison of subjective perceptions of health with objective measures. As strengths, the inclusion of initial as well as in-service teacher training in areas related to nutrition and physical activity is highlighted. This provides a complete picture of the educational preparation of professionals in these key aspects of health.

Timeline:
In January, the study protocol will be designed in the context of the Master in School Health at the Camilo José Cela University (Spain). Fieldwork and data collection will be carried out from June to September. From September to October data analysis and dissemination of results will be carried out.

Ethical aspects:
The data obtained from the participation will be used for the sole purpose of this research and will not be used for other purposes. The processing, communication and transfer of personal data will comply with the provisions of the Organic Law 3/2018, of 5 December, on the Protection of Personal Data
