The rapid advancement of AI tools like ChatGPT has revolutionized education, offering opportunities for enhanced learning but also posing challenges to academic integrity. This article explores several strategies to design practical exercises and materials that try to mitigate AI-assisted cheating while fostering critical thinking and deeper engagement among students.

The proposed approaches include personalized assignments, process-based assessments, critical AI engagement, oral and collaborative evaluations, and real-world problem-solving tasks. By implementing these strategies, educators can maintain academic rigor, promote originality, and adapt to the evolving role of AI in education.

The article emphasizes the importance of balancing AI literacy with ethical use, offering practical insights for educators in the digital age. Furthermore, this work highlights the importance and need for continuous professional development that aims to give educators the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully and ethically incorporate AI tools into their teaching practices.
