In today's world, almost every aspect of human life is partly or fully computerised. Artifcial intelligence has become an inescapable part of most professions, and machines are truly taking a lot of the load off human shoulders. At first glance, AI seems irreplaceable, and to some extent, even omnipotent. However, it should not be overlooked that with the rise of technologies, the importance of proper communication skills has become more evident. Communication is a fundamental skill that paves the way for successful decisions and outcomes. Communication skills are even more important in medicine and in the patient-doctor relationship. Modern doctors should be equipped with the knowledge of how to use highly specialised knowledge when approaching the patient as a person living in a given psychological, social and material context. Healthcare professionals should also be aware of the fact that failures in communication with the patient can have fatal consequences, and conversely, with the right approach to communication, a doctor can improve the prognosis of life-threatening diseases. So it's fair to say that problems in the patient-doctor relationship can be caused by health professionals neglecting the importance of equipping themselves with the relevant communication skills. The given research, conducted at BAU International University Batumi, aims to demonstrate the importance of including communication skills in the curriculum of any medical university and to make medical students aware of the approaches that will guarantee their success in treating and curing patients. The work also provides the elements that have been found to be essential to be taught when Communication Skills is included as a subject, and therefore draws conclusions based on the experience.
