GENERATIVE AI, POSTGRADUATE COURSES AND OPEN SOURCE AI PLATFORMS: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR POSTGRADUATE COURSES IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Generative AI in ‘higher education’, ‘public interest’, and decision-making systems is challenging the role of transparency, accountability and academic trust in the higher education ecosystem. Within this context nonprofit higher education organizations are expected to go beyond profit-making and consider the role of personalized teaching and knowledge as important factors in developing cultural capital. This may involve global initiates regarding personalized teaching and management of cultural content in cloud AI platforms. Governments, big tech companies, regulatory mechanisms and cultural organizations are increasingly recognizing the importance of regulating AI economic mechanisms and decision-making systems in a way that aligns with human values and cultural diversity in our democracy mechanism in higher education. Statista estimates that the value of AI market will increase from US$244 billion in 2025 to a staggering US$827 billion by 2030. Following a significant 35% rise in 2023, 2024 is projected to sustain this growth trend with an anticipated annual increase of 32%.
The paper examines personalized learning, management of cloud artificial intelligence platforms and values (cultural and commercial) in the higher education postgraduate courses. It outlines the role of evaluation reports in postgraduate courses and analyzing the management systems of personalized knowledge in the higher education systems. It examines the impact of knowledge values (cultural and commercial) and academic standards in distance learning postgraduate courses. Finally, it analyzes the case study of the postgraduate course “Cultural Organization’s Management” M.Sc, Hellenic Open University in the era of digital transformation era.
